Fresh Sewing Day and Small Blog Meet

And so it's August, my favourite month of the year because there are no school runs, no lost homework, no early morning starts although possibly a bit less sewing.  Without any shadow of a doubt, the highlight of July for me was the Fat Quarterly London Retreat which took place over the weekend of 20 July.  And of course handing over quilts to Siblings Together was one of the highlights of the weekend.  This quilt was made by the ladies of the Siblings Together Quilting Bee some of whom (Nicky and Hadley) are hiding away behind the quilt whereas others (Mary and Sonia) are brave enough to peep over the top and that's me on the left looking a bit serious.  I love this bee.  I love that we're making 12 quilts this year for kids who've been separated from their siblings.  And I love this quilt.

And what about you?  What have you worked on this month?  Any finishes?  Maybe a mosaic of everything you've been doing?  One favourite thing?  Link up at the bottom of this post to share what you've been working on. If you do link up, how about visiting at least four of the other blogs who link up - two above you and two below you - and stopping to leave a comment as well as visiting back anyone who visits you. As always here's the button to grab.

And link up in the second linky if you are a blog with fewer than 50 followers and would like to get to know a few more people out there in blogland. Write a post about this feature, add this button and then link up.

Next go and visit and get to know at least four other linked blogs - starting with the two above you in the linkys and the two below you. Visit those blogs, leave a comment, click to follow and visit that blog regularly over the next few weeks. Visit more if you have the time. And also visit back any new bloggers who come to visit you and get to know them and their blogs.

  2. Wow, that quilt is wonderful! I get so much inspiration from your quilts--just wish I had more time to do something about it!

  3. Beautiful quilt! Now, I love August for totally different reasons than you.

  4. Have a happy August! I love that quilt and think that next year someone armed with a pointy stick needs to be standing behind the people holding the quilt. Anyone who refuses to show their face above the quilt gets a not-so-subtle bit of encouragement...
